Real Madrid are already putting together a shortlist for next summer's transfer market, and Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard is at the top of their list.
According to The Sun, Los Merengues are preparing an audacious £30 million bid for the England midfielder.
A source inside the club told the British tabloid: "It's no secret Gerrard is a player [Real president Florentino] Pérez and technical director Jorge Valdano admire.
"There is a shortlist for next season and Gerrard is the first name on it."
Gerrard almost quit Anfield in 2005 when he came within a whisker of joining Chelsea before a change of heart at the 11th hour.
