Braces from Kaká and Gonzalo HiguaÃn helped Real Madrid thrashed Villarreal 6-2 to stay within two points of La Liga leaders Barcelona.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring after 18 minutes with a dipping freekick and Kaká doubled their lead from the penalty spot two minutes later after Ivan Marcano tripped HiguaÃn.
