Carlo Ancelotti is "100 percent confident" England international left-back Ashley Cole will still be a Chelsea player next season.

New Real Madrid coach José Mourinho is set to offer Cole an escape route from Stamford Bridge, and the 29-year-old has admitted to friends that he is keen to quit the country because his personal life has been thrust into the spotlight since his marriage collapsed.

But Blues boss Ancelotti insists his star defender, who still has three years remaining on his present contract, is going nowhere.

Speaking at a press conference after Chelsea's 1-0 friendly win over Crystal Palace, Ancelotti said: "I didn't speak with him, I don't need to speak with him and he doesn't need to speak to me.

"He is a player of Chelsea, did a fantastic season for us and will be an important player for us next season. One hundred per cent."
