VfB Stuttgart midfielder Sami Khedira has revealed that he is only interested in joining Real Madrid because of his admiration for José Mourinho.

New Real boss Mourinho is reportedly interested in taking Khedira to the Bernabéu after the Germany international caught the eye at this summer's World Cup finals.

And Khedira admits that interest from Mourinho has really left him pondering over his future at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

He told Bild newspaper: "I am mulling over the thought of making a move to Real Madrid. The club have confirmed there is interest.

"Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world and José Mourinho is one of the most successful coaches in the world.

"Mourinho has always fascinated me. He plays a style of football which I can identify with - tactically perfect, compact in defence and quick on the counter-attack. It is the only way to be successful these days."

However, the 23-year-old also maintained that he would only move away from Germany to go to Madrid with decision over his future due next week.

Khedira added: "All I am able to say is that I would not have allowed any contact if I would not be keen on such a step.

"I can also say I would not have allowed any other club than Real Madrid to get in touch with me over a transfer at this point in time.

"Still everything remains undecided. I am going to make a decision in the next couple of days, at least next week."
