Atlético Madrid started their La Liga campaign in impressive fashion with a classy 4-0 win over Sporting Gijón at a near-packed Vicente Calderón.
The hosts needed just 11 minutes to open the scoring with Jurado drilling a right-footed shot into the far corner of the net.
Atlético extended the lead on 39 minutes when Diego Forlán slotted home into an empty net from five yards out after a mazy run from Sergio Agüero.
Forlán scored his second in the 63rd minute before substitute Simão curled home a brilliant fourth in injury time.
