Manchester City are now fourth in the Premier League table after claiming a hard-fought 2-0 victory against Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.
The deadlock was broken just before the break when Joe Hart's long goal-kick was glanced on by the unfortunate Mohamed Diamé and Carlos Tévez nipped in to dink the ball over the advancing Ali Al-Habsi.
Tévez then turned into provider on 70 minutes as he took advantage of Maynor Figueroa's misplaced header to set up Yaya Touré to fire in his first City goal.
