Simão and Diego Costa scored in each half as Atlético Madrid downed local rivals Getafe 2-0 in an evenly-fought derby at the Vicente Calderón.
The hosts opened the scoring on 38 minutes when Simão's 25-yard free-kick deflected in off the back of Getafe goalkeeper Jordi Codina via the left-hand post.
And Costa sealed the points in the 73rd minute as the Brazilian made no mistake from the centre of the box following Juan Valera's cut-back from the goalline.
