Espanyol claimed a first win on their travels in the league this season following a 1-0 victory at Real Mallorca despite playing for almost an hour with 10 men.
The decisive goal came after 31 minutes when Luis GarcÃa made no mistake from the penalty spot after being pushed to the ground by Kevin GarcÃa.
They appeared unlikely to hold onto it as striker Pablo Osvaldo was harshly red carded for a high challenge five minutes later, but they managed to take all three points.
