Morten Gamst Pedersen scored a goal in each half to help Blackburn Rovers to a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Ewood Park.
Pedersen opened the scoring in first-half injury time with a free-kick from the right that caught out goalkeeper Brad Friedel, who flapped at the ball and should have done better.
The Norwegian then struck again midway through the second half from close range to secure the points for the hosts.
