Defending champions Chelsea secured only their second win in the last 10 Premier League games with a 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Stamford Bridge.
After twice hitting the woodwork in a goalless first half, Chelsea finally broke the deadlock on 57 minutes when Branislav Ivanović showed composure to shoot through a group of players past the unsighted Paul Robinson.
Chelsea made the game safe 14 minutes from time as Nicolas Anelka got the faintest of touches on an Ivanović header to turn the ball home from a corner.
