Hiddink is the leading contender for the vacant managerial role at Stamford Bridge following the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti on the final day of the season last month.

The Dutchman previously enjoyed an impressive interim spell during the 2008/09 Premier League season and was a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.

And with the speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea growing stronger each day, Hiddink made it plain he is eager to return to day-to-day club management.

He told a Turkish newspaper: "I never told anybody that I was going to continue working with Turkey.

"I feel so energetic, so a club role is more preferable. That's what I like, working every day. I feel I need to do more.

"I've trained Australia and PSV at the same time, as well as Russia and Chelsea and I was very happy. We'll see what happens with Turkey.

"There is no official offer yet, so I cannot guarantee anything."

Hiddink is expected to open formal negotiations with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich next week after Turkey's Euro 2012 qualifier against Belgium on Friday.
