A spectacular curling effort from Alexander Meier helped Eintracht Frankfurt to a routine 3-1 home win over struggling Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday.
Meier twice spurned presentable opportunities, before making it a case of third time lucky on the half-hour mark with a right-footed shot from the center of the box.
Srđan Lakić made it 2-0 just five minutes into the second half when he rose highest to plant a firm header beyond Düsseldorf goalkeeper Fabian Giefer.
Dani Schahin stepped off the bench to pull a goal back in the 78th minute, and it looked for a bit that they'd be able to get completely back into the game.
But Meier wasn't going to have any of that and he put the result beyond doubt with what probably his best goal of the season.
The 30-year-old midfielder picked the ball up just outside the box and curled it unstoppably into the top corner of Giefer's.
It was his 15th goal and a fourth double of the campaign.
