Struggling AS Roma were beaten by Juventus 2-0 for their fourth successive defeat and fifth in their last six matches.

Alessandro Del Piero curled a free kick over the defensive wall and into the upper left corner to open the scoring on 38 minutes.

Marco Marchionni added a second three minutes into the second half from close range.

The win moves the Bianconeri up to fifth in the table, while Roma slip to 17th.

In Saturday's early kick-off, Inter Milan needed an injury-time winner from defender Iván Córdoba to defeat hosts Reggina 3-2.

Inter went 2-0 ahead in the opening 23 minutes through Maicon and Patrick Vieira.

But Francesco Cozza pulled one back for the home side before halftime and Franco Brienza equalised in the 53rd minute.

Just as it looked as though the champions would have to settle for a point, Córdoba scored from close range at the end of the second half to move Inter into Serie A summit.
