Kaká to miss Ecuador clash

Brazil have announced that midfield maestro Kaká will not play in their World Cup qualifier with Ecuador on Sunday because the player has not fully recovered from a foot injury.

Kaká injured his foot while playing for AC Milan against Siena earlier this month.

"I spoke with coach Dunga and we agreed that since Kaká is not in his best shape and he still feels some pain, we will leave him in Brazil," team doctor Jose Luiz Runco said on Friday before the team left for Quito.

Runco said Kaká will go to Granja Comary, Porto Alegre, for physical therapy and treatment - in the hope of being ready to face Peru on Wednesday.

However, Brazil have a good back-up plan as Kaká's spot on Sunday should be filled by fellow Rossonero, Ronaldinho.
