Roberto Mancini could return to Inter

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Roberto Mancini admits he would be "contractually obliged" to return to Inter Milan if they want him back.

Inter failed to qualify for the last eight of the Champions League under José Mourinho - leading many to believe the Portuguese coach's job is on the line.

If Mourinho goes, Mancio could be the hot favourite for a return to the San Siro.

The tactician won three titles on the trot - including the Scudetto handed down through the Calciopoli courts - two Coppa Italia trophies and two Italian Super Cups, but was sacked last season.

"It is not true that President (Massimo) Moratti alerted me to the possibility of a return," he told RAI Due show L'Era Glaciale. "We have met up for another matter, but not for this.

"In any case, I am under contract for the next three years, but I don't think Inter need a coach right now.

"However, if they did recall me, then I would be contractually obliged to come back. In football anything can happen."
