Shaq taunts Becks on Twitter

Thursday, July 30, 2009

NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, more commonly known as Shaq, has used his Twitter account to taunt soccer ace David Beckham.

Shaq, one of the athletes who uses Twitter most frequently, has challenged Beckham to a game of "soccerball" in his new ABC reality TV show.

Shooting will begin next month on Shaq's Shaq Vs reality show, which will see him take on his rival sporting peers at their own game.

So far, the 7ft 1in is scheduled to compete against a star-studded line up that includes 14-time olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, St. Louis Cadinals slugger Albert Pujols, the Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya, tennis super star Serena Williams, and beach vollyball veterans Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.

"Dear david beckham," tweets Shaq. "I kno u heard about my shaq vs show, anyway u will never score a goal on me, I challenge you lil man."

After Beckham failed to reply, O'Neal, 37, then added: "David beckham I kno u hear me, dnt be scared, dnt make me call u out, u will never score a goal on me."

With no reply forthcoming, O'Neal upped the ante: "Dnt make me tweet to 2 million people that yur scared of shaq, u betta respnd, if u scared get a dog."

And finally: "Its official, today is david beckham is scared of shaq, day, he should b scared, he can never score a goal on me."

The challenge comes after Beckham was fined $1,000 by the Major League Soccer for a confrontation he had with an LA Galaxy fan during a match against AC Milan last week.
