Arsenal fired a warning to any critics doubting their title credentials with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

The Gunners took the lead on 26 minutes through Denilson's sublime curling effort from the edge of the box.

And the visitors killed off the home side with two goals from centre-back duo Thomas Vermaelen and William Gallas in four minutes just before the break.

Cesc Fàbregas made it 4-0 to Arsenal just three minutes after half-time as he slipped the ball past Tim Howard following a quick break.

The Spaniard capped a virtuoso display with his second of the match on 69 minutes when he ran unchecked from his own half and drilled a low shot past Howard into the far corner.

With two minutes to go, Everton's misery was further compounded when Eduardo found the net from close range after Andrei Arshavin's spinning shot came back off the post.

Louis Saha grabbed an injury-time consolation for the home side but there were hardly any Blue shirts left in the ground to see it.
