Ex-Milan flop warns Huntelaar

Friday, August 21, 2009

Ex-AC Milan striker Patrick Kluivert has Klaas-Jan Huntelaar that it is much easier to score in Spain than in Italy.

Like Huntelaar, when Kluivert arrived at the San Siro from Ajax Amsterdam he was dubbed "the new Marco van Basten".

But Kluivert, who played for Milan in 1997-98, couldn't live up to that billing and moved on to have greater success at Barcelona.

"Huntelaar knows how to score many goals," the 33-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I hope he'll do well and I'm cheering him on, but Italy is a very difficult place for a striker - in Spain it is much easier."

Kluivert is now working with the PSV Eindhoven youth academy after helping Louis van Gaal train strikers at AZ Alkmaar last season.
