Harry Redknapp heaps praise on Wilson Palacios

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Harry Redknapp has singled out Wilson Palacios for praise in helping to transform Tottenham Hotspur from relegation candidates to Premier League leaders.

It has been their best start to a season since 1960 and Redknapp has seen his Spurs side win every game so far.

But just seven months ago King ’Arry lost his rag with the lot of them following a 1-0 loss at Wigan Athletic.

Palacios had trampled all over his midfield – and Redknapp paid £12 million for the Honduran ten days later and reckons every penny had been well spent.

He said: "Palacios has made a massive difference to this club. He gets on with it, he’s strong, he’s aggressive – he’s what Spurs haven’t had.

"You get a little group who have seen Palacios come in, work his socks off and close down opponents, and it rubs off on people.

"He walks round as if he’s really pleased to be here and he appreciates everything about the place.

"He’s not a big-time Charlie, you need people like that to be successful."
