Chelsea overcame horrendous weather conditions at Stamford Bridge to claim a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Porto.
After a forgettable first half, the Blues broke the deadlock in the 48th minute when Nicolas Anelka fired home the rebound after his initial shot was saved by Porto goalkeeper Helton.
The Portuguese visitors finished the night with 10 men as Fernando saw red for a second bookable offence in the closing stages.
