Tottenham sign Niko Kranjčar from Portsmouth

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the deadline day signing of Portsmouth playmaker Niko Kranjčar.
The Croatia international was at White Hart Lane on Tuesday to undergo a medical, before heading off to join up with his national side.
With the tests revealing no problems, Spurs have pushed through a deal before the transfer window slammed shut.
"We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Portsmouth for the transfer of Niko Kranjčar to the club, following the player successfully completing a medical examination and agreeing personal terms," read a statement on Spurs' official website.
In the short-term Kranjčar is expected to slot into the void left by his countryman Luka Modrić, who faces a spell on the sidelines with a broken leg.
