AC Milan needed a late brace from defender Alessandro Nesta to snatch a 2-1 victory away at Chievo Verona.
Giampiero Pinzi had given the home side the lead after only seven minutes and the hosts held their advantage until the 80th minute when Nesta bravely headed home after Marco Borriello had seen his effort come back off the bar.
Nesta then added a second in stoppage time as he met an Andrea Pirlo corner and nodded past Stefano Sorrentino to silence the home fans at the Bentegodi.
