Premier League: Blackburn 2-2 Sunderland

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Sunderland old boy El-Hadji Diouf came off the bench to score a second-half equaliser for Blackburn Rovers in a 2-2 draw at Ewood Park.

The Black Cats went ahead on 52 minutes through Darren Bent, only for Morten Gamst Pedersen to equalise for Blackburn less than a minute later.

Sunderland regained the lead with 25 minutes remaining as Jordan Henderson's delightful through ball sent Bent racing clear to score his 13th goal of the season.

But the hosts drew level for the second time on 77 minutes when Diouf rose highest to connect with Pascal Chimbonda's cross to ensure his side picked up a valuable point.
