New Inter Milan adviser Amedeo Carboni has claimed that Maicon will be sold to Real Madrid if their asking price is met.
It is no secret that the Brazilian right-back is Real's No 1 transfer target under new boss José Mourinho.
Maicon has also expressed his desire to be reunited with his former mentor, although for now he is concentrating on the World Cup.
"Maicon is an extraordinary player, but he is 30 years old," Carboni told Canal 9.
"If an important offer were to come in from Real Madrid then I would sell him, as he’s going towards the end of his career."
Inter have set the price-tag at around €35 million, although that could rise further if the right-back impresses at the World Cup.
