World Cup 2010 Group E: Netherlands 2-0 Denmark

Monday, June 14, 2010

The Netherlands secured victory over Denmark in what was a scrappy affair at Soccer City with a 2-0 success.

The Dutch were in front inside the opening minute of the second period when Denmark defender Simon Poulsen headed a ball off the back of teammate Daniel Agger, who could do nothing as it deflected off his back and into his own net.

Dirk Kuyt wrapped up the points for Bert van Marwijk's side in the 85th when he reacted the quickest to tap home after substitute Eljero Elia's effort had come back off the post.
