Maicon desperate for Real Madrid move, says father

Sunday, July 25, 2010

Maicon's father has claimed that his son has not given up hope of a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer.

The Inter Milan defender was part of then coach José Mourinho's side that stormed to the treble last season and now the Portuguese boss wants his former charge to join him at his new home in the Bernabéu.

But Real are reportedly struggling to meet Inter's demands which La Gazzetta dello Sport claim have been increased from €27 million to €30 million.

However, the player's father has now stepped in to put extra pressure on the Nerazzurri.

Manuel Sissenando told Spanish newspaper AS: "My son can't wait to play for Real Madrid.

"He is aware that such a destination would be the perfect place to see out his career. At Madrid, Maicon would win the same titles he has managed to at Inter.

"Currently he is enjoying his holidays in northern Brazil, but we are relaxed in the knowledge that the right people are working on negotiations."
