Euro 2012 qualifier: Italy 5-0 Faroe Islands

Italy continued their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign with another win, seeing off the Faroe Islands with a comprehensive 5-0 win in Florence.

At his home ground, Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino opened the scoring in the 11th minute, meeting a corner from Andrea Pirlo with a header by the far post.

Daniele De Rossi doubled the lead in the 22nd minute with a shot from the center of the penalty area before Antonio Cassano put Italy 3-0 ahead five minutes later.

Substitute Fabio Quagliarella added the fourth from close range on 81 minutes and Pirlo completed the rout with a well-taken free-kick in the 90th minute.
