AS Roma slipped to the foot of Group E of the Champions League after a surprise 3-1 home defeat to FC Basel.
Alexander Frei put the visitors ahead on 12 minutes with a blistering effort, but Roma equalized through Marco Borriello nine minutes later.
Samuel Inkoom again silenced the Stadio Olimpico moments before the interval and Adilson Cabral sealed the win with a superb solo goal in the closing seconds.
