Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea saw their title aspirations badly dented after being held to 1-1 draw by a tenacious Stoke City side at the Britannia Stadium.
The home side began the game with purpose and broke the deadlock after just eight minutes when Jon Walters skipped away down the left before powering into the box and beating Petr Čech at his near post.
Chelsea equalized in the 33rd minute as Nicolas Anelka stood up a beautiful ball into the box for Didier Drogba to direct home with a strong diving header.
