A further £75million of investment this summer has taken Roberto Mancini's already hugely-expensive City collective to new heights.

"They are looking strong," said Redknapp, whose side face City on Sunday. "I would say that they have probably got as strong a squad as any team in the world.

"They don't have (Lionel) Messi but man for man, they certainly have a stronger squad than Barcelona.

"You look at that forward line now and they have (Sergio) Agüero, (Carlos) Tévez, (Edin) Džeko - it's amazing.

"Then you have players like (Mario) Balotelli, who can't get in the team along with (Emmanuel) Adebayor, (Craig) Bellamy and (Roque) Santa Cruz. It's an amazing array of players they have.

"I think they will eventually be challenging for everything, because they have the resources to keep bringing in the best players in the world.

"Eventually, if the owner stays with the club - which I am sure he will do - they will win the Premier League."

Redknapp also claimed Samir Nasri joined City for the cash on offer, despite the player's denials.

The White Hart Lane chief added: "I don't believe, no. He could have gone to Manchester United. They wanted him and he wanted to go to United, really - that's what I heard.

"But then Manchester City came in and offered him more money again, so he went to City."

Redknapp believes City have few rivals in the transfer market and can cherry-pick the world's best players.

He went on: "They're a more powerful club, yeah. If they are interested, it's a dream move for a player to suddenly go and get £200,000 a week for five years. They haven't got to worry too much after that, have they?

"So, yeah, if they come in and make a crazy offer and offer your player crazy money it's very difficult for the player not to have his head turned.

"That's how it is, we have to be realistic. When people get offered the chance to treble their wages, they're going to think about it."
