Premier League: Arsenal 3-0 Bolton

Sunday, September 25, 2011

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie notched his 100th goal for the club as the Dutchman bagged a brace in their 3-0 home win against ten-man Bolton Wanderers.

It took less than 40 seconds after the restart for Arsenal to break the deadlock as van Persie latched on to Aaron Ramsey's pass and drilled his effort inside Jussi Jääskeläinen's near-post.

Owen Coyle then found his side a man down after David Wheater saw red for pulling back Theo Walcott as the last line of defence on the edge of the area.

That decision galvanized Arsenal who went two up through van Persie's second on 70 minutes before Alex Song made sure of the points with a late third.
