Ryan Giggs rescued Manchester United as they rallied for a 1-1 draw with Benfica in their Champions League opener at the Estádio da Luz.
The Portuguese giants deservedly went ahead on 24 minutes as Óscar Cardozo got ahead of Jonny Evans and struck a right-foot shot past Anders Lindegaard from 16 yards.
United drew level, somewhat against the run of play, three minutes before the break when Giggs cut across the edge of the area and fizzed in a superb shot into the top corner.
