A Lionel Messi brace and a Xavi header were enough to give Barcelona a comfortable 3-0 win over Racing Santander at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona opened the scoring after 11 minutes as Andrés Iniesta slid the ball over for Messi to shed two defenders and bring the goalkeeper to the ground with a feint before rolling home.
Xavi then doubled with a rare header in the 27th minute before Messi rounded off the scoring on 68 minutes with a simple finish after Iniesta had produced an outrageous piece of skill and shot against a post.
