The visitors sprung to a 1-0 lead after 14 minutes and the goal came from a fluent movement that began when Besart Berisha lost possession on the edge of the Adelaide box.

Dario Vidošić was fed the ball inside his own half and the Roar target rode a challenge and perfectly slid Bruce Djite in down the right flank.

Djite picked out the unmarked Iain Ramsay at the back post and the ball was slammed into the roof of the net.

Brisbane finally got on the board when substitute Kofi Danning pounced on a Zenon Caravella turnover and set up Berisha for his goal in the 70th minute.

"Brisbane are always set for the counter in those little inside left, inside right channels because the full-backs get so high so quick, so it was always on," Adelaide coach John Kosmina said.

"Dario beat some feet on the halfway line, Brucey did magic the way he held his line when it opened left... and it was a great finish from Iain Ramsay. It's a hell of an effort."
