Peru U-20 goalkeeper Angelo Campos produced two outstanding saves in quick succession to help salvage a result against Uruguay in the South America U-20 Championship on Thursday.

With five minutes to go and Peru trailing 3-2, Campos came way off his line in an attempt to clear a long ball before Uruguayan striker Gonzalo Bueno.

Bueno got there first, though, and after holding off another Peru defender, he rolled the ball towards an empty net from the edge of the area.

The striker then looked on in horror as Campos sprinted faster than the ball could roll and made the diving save just before it reached the line.

If that wasn't enough, he then stopped Bueno from taking a second chance with a desperate swing of his foot.

Perhaps inspired by Campos' heroics, Peru went on to score a late equaliser in an eventual 3-3 draw.
