The Sounders went ahead after 28 minutes when Lamar Neagle sprinted onto a chest-pass settle from Rosales and powered a shot through the gloves of Jon Busch.

Just as the match headed into first-half stoppage time, Rosales put Seattle up 2-0 with a brilliant free-kick.

Rafael Baca gave a dangerous free-kick near the top left corner of the area after stepping across a driving Brad Evans.

Rosales stepped up and his shot bent hard toward the near post, rising over the wall and curling just inside the post and out of reach of a diving Busch.

After going 38 matches without registering a goal and an assist in the same game, Rosales has now done that twice in his past three.

Neagle added his second of the match in the 54th minute before Obafemi Martins put the final touches on the win with a stoppage time goal.
