A clever 20-yard free-kick from Ashley Westwood secured Aston Villa a hard fought 2-2 friendly draw at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
Wycombe fortuitously went ahead in the 10th minute through Martin McCoy, but Paul Lambert's men regrouped and got themselves level on 25 minutes with Matthew Lowton's header.
But the visitors entered half-time one goal adrift as Leon Johnson restored Wycombe's lead just before the break.
Villa started the second half brightly and grabbed a second equalizer seven minutes after the restart thanks to Westwood's first goal for the club.
The 23-year-old showed nous to clip a sumptuous low free-kick from 20 yards through a crowded penalty box and past Wycombe goalkeeper Matt Ingram.
"Westie is a really clever player, everybody knows that," Lambert said afterwards.
