Ahead of Roma's 3-1 win over Parma on Monday night at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, the 36-year-old overheard a stadium announcement about little Chanel Bocconi.

The girl, who shares the same first name as Totti's daughter, is suffering from a rare illness which the child's family are hoping to defeat with an operation in Boston.

Having heard the announcement, Totti was seen with young Chanel after the game and has committed to helping her family raise the rest of the required funds.

Parma and a number of their supporter groups have been setting up events to raise cash and they'll now be helped by the former Italy international.

The Bocconi family need around €300,000 for an initial round of treatment and they currently have a little over €200,000.
