Miralem Pjanić (Roma) scores from inside his own half vs Man United

Sunday, July 27, 2014

Miralem Pjanić incredibly scored from his own half but AS Roma were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United in the International Champions Cup in Denver on Saturday.

United headed to the dressing room with a commanding 3-0 lead thanks to a brace from Wayne Rooney and another from Juan Mata.

Roma were left with a mountain to climb, but Pjanić came off the bench and pulled a goal back 15 minutes from time with an absolutely sensational goal.

Spotting Ben Amos off his line, the Bosnian fantastically executed a brilliant, audacious lob from all of 60 yards which flew over the frantically back-tracking goalkeeper and under the crossbar.

Francesco Totti then added a second Roma goal from the penalty spot, but United stood firm to secure the victory.

"Pjanić's goal was fantastic and will go all round the world. I can say the training session with the Broncos did him good!," Roma coach Rudi Garcia told reporters.

The day before, Pjanić scored from the same distance with an American football at the Denver Broncos' training complex.
