Serie A round-up: Inter claim Scudetto as Milan lose

Table of Contents
Inter Milan claimed their fourth straight Scudetto after second-placed AC Milan fell to a 2-1 defeat at Udinese.

Going into the match, Milan needed to win to keep the title race alive, but the loss left it on 71 points, an insurmountable seven behind their cross-city rivals with two matches to play.

Udinese took the lead in the 31st minute when Paolo Maldini, in his 900th appearance for Milan, brought down Antonio Floro Flores inside the area and Gaetano D'Agostino tucked away his spot-kick.

The home side went close to adding a second early in the second half when Simone Pepe's free-kick curled just wide of the post with Dida stranded.

But they did double the lead soon as D'Agostino's corner from the left was flicked on by Felipe to Cristián Zapata, who could not really miss from five yards out.

Massimo Ambrosini pulled a goal back in the third minute of stoppage time, but it was no more than a consolation for Milan.
