Premier League: Arsenal 3-1 Burnley

Arsenal drew level on points with leaders Chelsea and boosted their chances of winning the Premier League after a convincing 3-1 home win over relegation-threatened Burnley.

The Gunners took the lead in the 34th minute as Samir Nasri dinked a ball over the Clarets back-line and Cesc Fàbregas placed the ball through Brian Jensen's legs for his 17th goal of the season.

Arsenal continued to have the upper hand after the break but were made to pay for their wasteful finishing when David Nugent stole in behind the defence and lifted the ball past Manuel Almunia.

But Theo Walcott killed off any hopes of a Burnley turnaround as he cut in from the right before firing an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner.

Substitute Andrei Arshavin then wrapped up a comfortable victory with virtually the last kick of the game.
