Serie A: Catania 3-1 Inter Milan

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Catania shook up the Serie A title race and boosted their own survival hopes with a 3-1 victory over 10-man Inter Milan at the Stadio Massimino.

The visitors went ahead in the 54th minute through Diego Milito, but his fellow Argentine Maxi López equalised 20 minutes later and Inter then hit the self-destruct button.

Sulley Muntari was sent off after only two minutes on the field as he gave away a penalty which was cheekily converted by Giuseppe Mascara in the 81st minute.

Catania then made it three when Jorge Martínez cut in from the left, beat Lúcio and rounded Júlio César to seal a remarkable victory for the Rosazzurri.
