Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in TIME Magazine’s 40 most influential people poll and already collected more than 7,000 votes as of posting time.

The Real Madrid winger is currently ranked 33rd in TIME’s 100 most influential people poll with a total of 7,419 votes. He earned an average ranking of 87.

He ranked seventh among sports figures, behind Olympic gold medalist figure skater Yu-Na Kim of South Korea (2nd place, 170,382), Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (7th, 74,549), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White (10th, 46,196), Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette (20th, 10,916), Filipino world welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (23rd, 9,484) and Swiss tennis icon Roger Federer (26th, 8,478).

Pop artist Lady Gaga currently holds the top spot with 209,486 votes.

The TIME Magazine poll opened voting on April 1 and ends on April 29, with the top-ranked 100 to be featured in their end-of-the month issue.

Interestingly, Argentina and Barcelona's World Player of the Year Lionel Messi was not on the list.
