Inter Milan came from behind to beat relegation-threatened Atalanta 3-1 at the San Siro to return to the top of Serie A, at least until AS Roma plays Sunday.

Atalanta took the lead in the fifth minute when Thomas Manfredini picked out Simone Tiribocchi's run behind defender Marco Materazzi, and the striker had time to shoot past goalkeeper Júlio César.

Inter equalised when top scorer Diego Milito lobbed goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola in the 24th minute and McDonald Mariga put the hosts ahead with his first goal since joining the club in January.

Cristian Chivu also scored his first goal for the club to wrap up the points for Inter in the 78th minute and send them back to the head of the standings.
