Big spending Spanish giants Real Madrid have moved to dampen speculation that they are interested in Arsenal star Cesc Fàbregas.
Fàbregas has been perennially linked with a move to boyhood club Barcelona but recent media speculation had suggested that Los Blancos were readying to make a €65 million move for the Gunners captain.
However, Real sporting director Jorge Valdano quashed the rumours claiming that they have made no bid or approach for the 23-year-old.
Speaking to Canal+ following Real's 1-0 La Liga win over Espanyol, Valdano said: "We never made an offer for him Fàbregas and we haven't spoken with Arsenal either.
"We have a good relationship with Arsenal and we don't want any misunderstanding."
