A brilliant Shaun Maloney strike gave Wigan Athletic a deserved 1-0 victory over Premier League leaders Manchester United at the DW Stadium.

Maloney scored the winner four minutes into the second half when he exchanged passes with Jean Beausejour before curling a wonderful shot beyond David de Gea.
