Sergio Ramos aims subtle dig at Real Madrid in debut song
Legendary defender Sergio Ramos has made a surprising switch from football to music, and appears to have used his debut track to take a swipe at Real Madrid over his controversial departure.

The 39-year-old World Cup winner, now playing for Monterrey in Mexico, released a song titled "Cibeles"- named after the iconic Madrid square where Los Blancos celebrate their title triumphs.

In the opening lines, Ramos reflects on his 2021 exit after 16 years at the Santiago Bernabéu.
There are things I didn't tell you that still hurt me. I never wanted to leave, you asked me to fly.
The lyrics appear to reference his breakdown in contract talks with Madrid President Florentino Pérez, who informed him that the club's renewal offer had expired by the time Ramos was finally ready to sign.

'You Forgot About Me'

Ramos, who won five La Liga titles, four Champions League crowns, and scored over 100 goals for Madrid despite being a defender, goes further in the song, hinting at feelings of betrayal.
I wasn't in me, you asked me to fly, thank goodness I left, because you didn't treat me the same.

I'd rather die standing than live on my knees, you forgot about me, you left me aside.

Without being able to decide, that's what hurts me the most.
The track has already sparked debate among Madridistas, with many interpreting it as a direct message to Pérez and the club's hierarchy.

Still Open to a Return

Despite the bitterness, Ramos ends on a softer note, leaving the door open for reconciliation.
And although everything was like that, I would be delighted to return.
The comments will intrigue Madrid fans, some of whom still hope to see Ramos return to the club in a non-playing role in the future.
