Agent shrugs off Zlatan rumours

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

The representative of Zlatan Ibrahimović has denied speculation that the Swedish star is considering quitting Inter Milan.

Ibra's long-term future at the Giuseppe Meazza has been the subject of speculation since he refused to commit his future to the Nerazzurri in a recent interview with Sky Italia.

When asked whether he will be around to spearhead a European campaign next term, the striker merely said: "We will see."

There had been rumours he might be leaving Inter in the summer, possibly for Barcelona, but these have been refuted by his agent, Mino Raiola.

Raiola told Radio Radio TV: "When he said 'we'll see,' he just meant that first there is a Scudetto and a Coppa Italia to win before we think about the Champions League.

"If you ask me whether he was angry at the Champions League elimination then I would say yes, very angry.

"He feels gutted, perhaps more than the others because he is still lacking a Champions League medal and he wants it at all costs.

"But he has a contract for a further four years with Inter and, for the time being, there are no problems.

"Either Inter will sell him or he will see out his deal. He won't be leaving unless (Inter president Massimo) Moratti want him to.

"Since his arrival in Italy, Zlatan has never had any problems with coaches and they have appreciated his professionalism and dedication."

He added: "Only certain teams could afford someone who is in the same league as (Lionel) Messi, (Didier) Drogba, Cristiano Ronaldo and (Alexandre) Pato. They are Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, AC Milan and Manchester United.

"I think he is worth €100 million because he is the most complete player in the world."
