Italy and Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro has no idea whether he will remain at the Bernabéu or not next season.

The 35-year-old's contract is due to expire this term and had previously discussed an extension with Ramón Calderón before the former club president's suddenly resigned earlier in the year.

And since the chairman has gone, Cannavaro is in the dark regarding his future, and he has hinted that he could join another club in order to be fit, ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

"The situation inside the club is complicated," he said.

"My renewal had nearly been resolved with Ramón Calderón, but now things are complicated and if another club is interested than I could move.

"Back to Italy? It's difficult to talk about this. It's difficult now to find a place for me, but I'll go anywhere and I will have the same desire that I have now, the most important thing is that I still want to win.

"What I need is a competitive league because I want to stay fit and play at a high level at the 2010 World Cup."
