Ibrahimović prefers Barcelona

Friday, March 27, 2009

The agent of Zlatan Ibrahimović has declared that a move to Spain would be his client's preferred option should he leave Inter Milan.

The 27-year-old's future at the San Siro is uncertain amid reports that he could seek an exit in the summer.

Barcelona are said to be interested in the Swede, and agent Mino Raiola has reserved praise for the Spanish club.

"Which player does not like Barça? Barça has always been a spectacular club, in fact, more than a club, an institution," Raiola told ONA FM.

"They are playing some spectacular football at the moment, they have fantastic fans and it is a fantastic city. All great players want to play for them.

"If Ibrahimović were to leave Italy, which would be difficult, then he would choose a high level club in Spain or England.

"At this moment in his career, he is more open to Spain. Now he is accustomed to Italy and to Southern Europe and it would be easier to settle in Spain's climate."

He added: "Ibrahimović is not ready to make any move just yet as he first wants to help to win the league and forget their Champions League exit at the hands of Manchester United.

"He has said that he does not want to think about his future, that he has a contract with Inter that he wants to respect and we shall see what happens later on."
